Adding a SubstrateSource Java Fern (Microsorum pteropus) to your freshwater aquarium helps create a natural look for your tank. As it grows, this plant helps purify your water by absorbing nitrate nutrients. Java Fern can be grown under low to high lighting, fully submersed under water. Though not required, the 3-inch by 5-inch coco fiber mat can be easily removed with sharp scissors. For optimal growth, tie the plant to wood or rocks. Happy planting! NOTE: Never release plant species into the wild. Before discarding excess growth, allow the plants to fully dry. Photo depicts sample plant, not the actual plant you will receive. Some discoloration may occur during shipping due to the absence of light during transit.
CO2 plays an indispensable role to the photosynthesis of aquatic plants, but the aquarium can not provide a genuine environment for plants' growing, so it comes even important for adding adequate amount of CO2 to the aquarium.

1 ORANGE CPO Dwarf Mexican Crayfish/Mini Lobster (Cambarellus patzcuarensis) - 1/2 Inch to 1 1/2 Inches by Aquatic Arts
Manufacturer: Aquatic Arts
Brand: Aquatic Arts
CPO crayfish are one of our favorite invertebrates. They are much larger in size than dwarf shrimp (they can grow up to 1.6 inches long) and tend to live much longer, but are still small enough to comfortably live in a tank as small as five gallons. They are one of the most brightly colored varieties of invertebrates we offer, drawing the eye right to them. These are quite active and do not hide during the day like most crayfish. They definitely make an exciting addition to any aquarium and are a great way to get into invertebrates if you haven't joined the craze already! Though the CPO crayfish is small enough not to be a threat to most other tank inhabitants, they have on occasion gone after dwarf shrimp, so we cannot recommend keeping them in the same tank. RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: - pH level range: 6.0 to 8.0 - Temperature range: 60 to 75 degrees Fahrenheit - Water type: Medium hard - Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Fast-moving fish (such as Danios, Cobra Guppies, Otocinclus catfish, etc.). Cichlids can be aggressive towards crayfish and should not be kept in the same tank. - Additional notes: CPO crayfish are omnivores and will eat leftovers, dead tank mates, and even fish waste. Dwarf crayfish prefer to live in tanks with live aquatic plants (such as java moss, willow moss, hornwort, etc.). This is because they like the cover that plants provide, they love to graze on the plants for algae, and the plants help keep the water clean for them.
3 Multi-Color Mystery Snail COMBO PACK (Pomacea bridgesii - LARGE live snails! 1/2 to 2+ inches) by Aquatic Arts
Manufacturer: Aquatic Arts
Brand: Aquatic Arts
Like Mystery Snails, but can't decide which color to order? This is the combo pack for you! This order includes 3 different colors of mystery snails - golden, blue, and black/purple. These large and striking snails are great for adding some color and decoration to your aquarium, but they also serve some very useful purposes. They clean algae off of glass, plants, and decorations, they eat hair algae, and they keep your substrate clean and the correct color. They are totally safe with any fish, shrimp, or plants, and are completely peaceful. Mystery Snails are quite large as adults, growing 2"+ in size. NOTE: If you search on the Internet for mystery snails, many results will state that these are the same species as Apple Snails. These are NOT Apple Snails, though they do resemble them in shape. Apple Snails are considered an invasive species and are illegal to own in the United States. Our Mystery Snails do not grow to the tremendous size that Apple Snails do (often as big as an apple). RECOMMENDED TANK PARAMETERS: - PH level range: 7.6 to 8.4 - Temperature range: 68 to 84 degrees Fahrenheit - Water type: Hard - Recommended Aquatic Arts tank mates: Other types of snails (Nerite snails, other Mystery Snails, Sulawesi Snails, etc.), dwarf shrimp (such as Blue Velvet shrimp, Sakura Fire Red Cherry Shrimp, Neon Yellow Shrimp, etc.). They can also be kept with small to medium-sized, non-aggressive fish. - Additional notes: With mystery snails, it's a good idea to make sure the water line in your aquarium isn't too high, as these snails tend to climb up to the water line to breathe air. Other than algae and biofilm, they also eat fish or invertebrate pellets and blanched vegetables such as zucchini, kale, spinach, or cucumber. Snails are very sensitive to copper, so watch out for copper if you use tap water in your tank.
Bio Media - 400g - Aquatic Arts FilterPlus Bio-Media Aquarium Filter
Manufacturer: Aquatic Arts LLC
Brand: Aquatic Arts
FilterPlus is one of the most highly effective types of Bio-Media on the market. It is comprised of a naturally occurring mineral mined and graded right here in the United States! It will never break down in your aquarium and will never need to be replaced. It contains no artificial materials, chemicals, or any other additives. FilterPlus is the only Bio-Media used at the Aquatic Arts facility, where it provides Bio-Filtration to over 150 holding tanks and over 10,000 aquatic animals. We have such confidence in FilterPlus that we do 5 or less ammonia tests per week while caring for over 150 holding tanks! Each 1000g of FilterPlus is enough Bio-Media to filter a heavily stocked 55-75 gallon aquarium, or a medium stocked 100 gallon aquarium. We recommend 75-100g per 10 gallons for medium stock level, and 150-200g per 10 gallons for heavy stock level. FilterPlus can be used with or without media bags, and can usually be added directly to your filter's media chambers. It can be used in almost all types of filters, including canister filters, hang on filters, and even be used as substrate for additional Bio-Filtration. The secret to the amazing Bio-Filtration abilities of FilterPlus is the extremely porous surface area. This provides far more surface area by volume than plastic Bio-Balls or ceramic rings. It also massively outperforms standard filter cartridges. FilterPlus can save you a significant amount of money on replacement Bio-Filters, as it never needs to be replaced. FilterPlus is most recommended for canister filters, where it can usually be added directly to the media chambers. Due to the large size and low permeability of the individual pieces, FilterPlus can house anaerobic bacteria, which remove nitrates from the water! This bacteria can take time to establish, but once it does it can dramatically reduce the need for water changes due to rising nitrates.
•Allows you to monitor the CO2 level in your tank . •Unique design prevents any chance of spilling the indicator solution. •Reusable color chart sticker allows the constant repositioning of the position of the label on the aquarium.
Adding a SubstrateSource "Amazon Sword"(Echinodorus bleheri) to your freshwater aquarium helps create a natural look for your tank. This plant is known for it's bright green color and bold appearance. As it grows, this plant helps purify your water by absorbing nitrate nutrients. This plant can be grown with moderate light fully submersed under water. We like to position our Amazon Swords towards the back of the aquarium where they can take advantage of deeper substrate and grow out to their full potential as a background plant. Potted plants are grown in 2-inch slotted or mesh plastic pots. The pots are made out of recycled plastic. Potted plants are grown without soil in rockwool media. The rockwool media allows the plants to grow in a clean, soil-free environment, ready to ship. To prepare your plant for the aquarium, first gently remove the pot. SubstrateSource Plant Guide: A plant guide is included with this plant. The guide contains brief care and illustrated setup instructions specific to this plant.
